Glassworks London is a fresh fashion brand founded in London in 2010. We are independent, style-obsessed and passionate believers in bricks-and-mortar boutiques as well as streamlined digital shopping. Our design-led stores and website are refreshed weekly with small runs of new fashion, supported by dedicated staff-turned-stylists.
The Role
The Retail Store Manager will be a highly organised, confident self-starter responsible for managing one Glassworks retail location on a day-to-day basis. You will lead a retail team appropriate to your location and report to the Retail General Manager. This role is suitable for someone driven to succeed in retail management who is mature, quick-thinking and able to handle a range of situations and personalities. As the store grows, the stores will be regularly improved and performance targets elevated. You must be able to work and lead independently and have prior experience demonstrating this strength. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a core role in driving a growing company to success.
Responsibilities
- Managing people, brand/store environment standards and store operations to achieve daily/weekly/monthly targets and ensure best-in-class customer service and satisfaction scores
- Monitoring store sales targets/KPIs and leading the team and operations to achieve excellent store performance
- Managing the retail team including regular meetings, personal development plans/appraisals, and commission/contest rewards
- Planning and distributing staffing schedules while keeping labour costs within budget
- Recruiting and delivering new staff training/onboarding and ongoing training for new information/procedures
- Overseeing stock delivery, stock transfer and stock room maintenance processes
- Developing creative strategies (e.g., new product, visual merchandising ideas) to maximise the store’s role within the territory
- Effectively managing performance and corrective action processes in conjunction with Human Resources
Required Skills
- 2+ years of retail management experience is essential, preferably in women’s fashion. Ideal for a former small boutique manager who loves small teams and personal shopping experiences
- Passion for the Glassworks London brand/products, clear styling ability and impeccable sales talent, with strong communication skills
- Ability to identify standout sales talent and the drive and maturity to train, develop and manage retail teams
- Understanding of retail KPIs (revenue, ATV, UPT, profit) with a proven track record of success
- Proven ownership of store and team performance, including initiatives that drove success
- IT skills, comfortable with new technologies (POS, barcoding software, etc.); quick learner able to resolve basic technology issues independently
