Glassworks London is an independent women’s fashion retailer founded in 2010, with design-led boutiques and a fast-moving product range refreshed regularly with new fashion. We are strengthening the quality and consistency of our lifestyle, campaign and brand imagery and looking to partner with a team of strong creatives to achieve this.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced freelance fashion photographer who can create elevated model-led imagery with a simple setup and limited production support. This is not primarily a high-volume ecommerce role. Our immediate need is lifestyle, campaign, studio, outdoor and social imagery that makes the product feel desirable, current and commercially useful.
You should be able to make modest setups feel intentional and elevated, direct models naturally, understand light, and create imagery that works across brand, social, email, ecommerce and trading needs. We are looking for someone who can translate the Glassworks brand DNA into relevant, distinctive and sometimes boundary-pushing photography - not boring, derivative or repetitive imagery.
WORKING PATTERN / LOCATION
Freelance or project basis. Shoots will mainly take place in London and may include studio, store and outdoor locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shoot model-led lifestyle, campaign and brand content from an agreed Glassworks creative brief.
- Contribute practical input on lighting, location, model movement and shot feasibility during shoot preparation.
- Create strong imagery in simple studio, set-based and outdoor environments.
- Use studio and natural light confidently.
- Direct models towards natural movement, expression and commercially useful poses.
- Work with the creative team on model selection, model tests and shoot planning.
- Help assess whether a model can move, express, pose and bring the product to life.
- Make clothing look attractive, clear and easy to understand.
- Work confidently from a clear creative brief without requiring a large production team.
- Support product-on-model ecommerce shoots as needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong photographic taste and a clear personal eye.
- Excellent understanding of light, composition and exposure.
- Confident, natural model direction.
- Ability to make simple setups feel elevated.
- Strong personal or passion work alongside commercial work.
- Ability to interpret brand direction and create imagery with point of view.
- Commercial judgement without becoming formulaic.
- Clear ownership of your work and ability to explain your decisions.
- High standards of self-review, file delivery and follow-through.
WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE
- Simple setups produce distinctive, polished imagery.
- Models look natural, confident and well directed.
- Clothing is flattering, visible and commercially useful.
- Images feel appropriate for brand, social, email and trading use.
- The work feels connected to the Glassworks brand DNA while still bringing fresh creative energy.
- Shoots do not become repetitive or visually flat.
- You work with pace and independence.
- Your technical and creative decisions can be clearly explained.
- Each shoot improves through thoughtful self-review.
