Founded in London in 2010, Glassworks is a fresh, independent fashion brand – totally independent, style‑obsessed and passionate believers in bricks‑and‑mortar boutiques as well as streamlined digital shopping. Our design‑led stores and website are refreshed weekly with new fashion pieces, meaning a constant feed of exciting new styles to try on, helped along by our dedicated staff‑turned‑stylists. THE ROLE
The Retail Store Manager will be a highly organized, confident self‑starter who will manage one Glassworks retail location on a day‑to‑day basis. You will lead a retail team staffed appropriately to your location and will report into the Retail Area Manager. This role is perfect for someone who is mature, quick‑thinking and can handle a range of situations and personalities, and as the company grows regularly improves stores and elevates performance targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing people, brand/store environment standards and store operations to achieve daily/weekly/monthly targets and ensuring best‑in‑class customer service and satisfaction scores;
- Managing the retail team, including regular meetings, personal development plans/appraisals, and commission/contest rewards;
- Recruiting and delivering new staff training/onboarding process and continued staff training for new information/procedures;
- Monitoring the store sales targets/KPIs and managing the team and operations to achieve excellent store performance marks in monthly management reviews;
- Planning and distributing the staffing schedule while keeping labour costs within budget;
- Overseeing the stock delivery, stock transfer and stock room maintenance processes;
- Developing creative strategies (e.g., new product, visual merchandising ideas) to maximise the role of the store within the territory;
- Effectively managing performance and corrective action processes in conjunction with Human Resources.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of retail management experience, preferably in women’s fashion; this position is ideal for a former small boutique manager who loves personal shopping experiences.
- Passion for the Glassworks London brand/products, clear styling ability, and love of communicating with customers and team members.
- A natural ability to identify and develop sales talent, and the drive and maturity to train, develop and manage retail teams.
- Detailed understanding of retail KPIs (revenue, ATV, UPT, profit) and a clear track record of success in previous work experience.
- A clear track record of taking ownership of the performance of your store and team, including initiatives that drove success.
- IT skills – comfortable using and learning new technologies, including Microsoft Excel, electric POS system, barcoding software, etc.
- Quick learner who can resolve basic technology issues independently.
