Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a shift role where you can work independently and take ownership of all engineering tasks in a busy manufacturing site?

At Glassolutions we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work in our Engineering Team, helping to keep our site running efficiently in order to deliver for our customers on time, every time.

This Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be part of our small but mighty Engineering Team who work collaboratively with the production team on site. It’s a varied role – the main responsibilities will be working on planned maintenance and continuous improvement projects, although of course there will be reactive tasks too

Glassolutions is part of Saint-Gobain – the UK’s leading provider of glass and glazing solutions to the architectural, construction, building maintenance, door and window sectors.

This is a shift role working 5 days a week working a week of early, a week of lates and a week of nights.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum level II City and Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • Demonstrable multi-skilled engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Controlling and liaising with OEM’s, suppliers and contractors as required
  • Knowledge of PLC controls along with good Microsoft IT knowledge
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence and work collaboratively
  • Experience with welding
  • Able to read electrical, pneumatic and mechanical diagrams

What you will be doing:

  • Using the Shire system to identify and carry out planned maintenance tasks
  • Reactive maintenance, attend breakdowns, fault-find and fix accordingly
  • Sole responsibility for the engineering tasks on shift
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to plan shutdowns and attend morning meetings to update wider site teams on activities
  • Act as a health and safety ambassador, working within a safe system of work, including Permit to Work, Personal Protection Equipment, Working at Height, Isolation, Risk Assessment etc
