The Opportunity
Join Glassbox's global legal team as our UK Commercial Counsel, where you will partner closely with business leaders to negotiate strategic commercial agreements, provide practical legal advice, and help drive business growth in a fast-paced Saa S environment.
This is a high-impact role offering significant ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to influence key commercial decisions.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary lawyer responsible for UK & US commercial matters.
- Work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals and compliance issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to complex Saa S, vendor & partnership agreements.
- Work cross-functionally across the company to analyze legal risks and work closely with a global team across multiple time zones.
- Resolve commercial disputes through negotiation or mediation.
- What You Will Need
- Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales, with a current practicing certificate, or qualified in another common law jurisdiction and eligible to practice in the UK.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a commercial lawyer, with in-house legal experience required; additional law firm experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Saa S, contract law, commercial law & corporate law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner in hybrid work environments.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of successfully closing commercial deals.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment handling multiple priorities effectively. Prior startup technology company experience strongly preferred.
- Highly independent and proactive, with the ability to identify issues and drive matters forward with limited oversight.
- Comfortable using AI tools, Slack, Salesforce, Zoom, and other digital collaboration tools as primary communication channels.
