Our Building Standards & Public Safety service plays a crucial role in shaping this city. From transformative city centre and city-wide projects to major concerts, festivals, international events and safety at sports grounds, the scale and variety of work is unparalleled in Scotland.
We are offering an excellent opportunity to join our expanding Building Standards & Public Safety team as a Senior Building Standards Surveyor. There are 4 permanent positions located within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability and reports to a Team Manager for Building Standards & Public Safety. In this role you will be responsible for providing authoritative specialist professional advice and recommendations to support the delivery of a high-quality Building Standards service to meet verifier appointment criteria, statutory duties, NRS service targets and wider Council objectives. You will manage your own workload, maintain accurate records and help ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Full membership of MRICS, MCIOD, MBENG or equivalent construction relation professions institute is an essential requirement of this role. Whilst a degree in an appropriate construction discipline e.g., Building Surveying; Construction Engineering; Quantity Surveying; Architecture; etc, and a full current driving licence are desirable.
Contract Details:
- Weekly Hours: 35 per week
- Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Annual Salary: £43,956.89 - £51,154.27 on an incremental scale (note that this will increase by 3.5% on 1st April 2026)
- Hybrid working is available in this role.
