The post is a critical part of a team that fulfils our statutory duties under the Roads (Scotland) Act by undertaking Safety Inspections of the road network and associated infrastructure including Street Lighting assets. The postholder will undertake walked and driven Safety and Condition Inspections on the road network and associated infrastructure to inspect, identify, record condition data and defects on the road network and instruct repairs, as necessary. The data obtained via inspections will be used to defend the Council in public liability claims and the post holder may be required to explain decisions and risk assessment in a Legal setting. The post will require a significant amount of walking and lone working. This post is temporary for a period up to 1 year.
