An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Plant Mechanic to join our Fleet Maintenance team on a permanent basis. You must have Apprentice Certification in Plant machinery, vehicle trade, Horticultural Engineer, C&G, Scotvec or equivalent level and a full current driving licence.
Service Details: NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. Position Details: You will carry out the service, repair and maintenance of all grass cutting, gritting equipment and mechanical plant for GCC to the highest standard that will comply with both Health & Safety and all warranty claims submitted. You could attend breakdowns and be subject to lone working, or on a standby rota if required by the service. Glasgow City Council Plant Fleet will be moving to Greener Technology and the post holder will be required to undergo continuous personal development to keep up with these technologies.
Contractual Details:
- Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week
- Work Pattern: 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 3:30pm Friday. Operational hours are subject to review and may change.
- Annual Salary: £32,024.87 - £36,151.72 on an incremental scale
- Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary, the role attracts a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £928 per annum, and a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £1,405 per annum.
