Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Pest Control Operative to join our Environmental Health team on a permanent basis.

NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details

The postholder will join a team of Pest Control Officers and contribute to the provision of the pest control service within Environmental Health (including covering dog warden duties when required).

Duties will include:

  • Planning and carrying out site visits/inspections,
  • Providing advice to the public, businesses, and other stakeholders,
  • Investigate complaints and service requests (including treating pests as required),
  • Liaise with other services and organisations.

Experience in the pest control or allied industries, and a current driving licence are essential requirements of this role. A First Aid certificate is desirable.

Officers are provided with all required PPE, ongoing training and have access to a Council van which they may use for home to work travel.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: 37 + 2.5 hours contractual overtime per week

Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, with weekend standby service provision on a rota basis

Annual Salary: Β£25,151.16 – Β£26,745.03 on an incremental scale

Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of Β£2,173, a working context & demand (WCD) payment of Β£1,172 per annum, and you will also receive a payment in relation to the contractual overtime noted.
