Get Your Film Made: Navigating Development and Financing. From idea to script to securing funding-discover what film development really involves in this essential Online Masterclass! BFI Film Academy

This session will dive into the world of film development, budgets, and pitching. Every great film starts off with an idea, but what\’s next? Join this Masterclass to learn about forming a team, accessing funding to finance your film, as well as pitching to commissioners, funding bodies and production companies. Join independent Producer and Consultant, Iria Pizania, as she shares her expert insights on navigating the film industry. This interactive session will also include a live Ask Me Anything (AMA), giving you the chance to get your questions answered directly.

Guest bio

Iria is an independent Producer based in London. Her short films have travelled across the globe screening at multiple international film festivals including London Short FF, Palm Springs FF, Melbourne Queer FF. Her 2023 short film Chickenshit, directed by Ellie Rogers was longlisted for the Best British Short BIFA. She has gained experience across different roles in both film and TV working in physical production for companies and broadcasters including Apple TV+, BBC, Two Brothers Pictures and Avalon as well as Film Development working as Talent Executive in Scotland\’s Short Circuit and a freelance script reader and consultant. She is an Encounters Film Festival \’Widening the Lens\’ scheme and BFI Weekender programme alumna, a mentor on Channel 4\’s Momentum scheme and the Film London Connect mentoring scheme, and a BIFA voter. She currently works for the UK Global Screen Fund delivered by the BFI.
