An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Security Officer to join our Security service on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.
The Security Service covers over six hundred properties including City Building construction sites, schools, libraries, museums, art galleries, community facilities and sports venues across the city.
The role will involve implementing all aspects of the Council’s Security Service through the delivery of incident response, mobile patrols, CCTV monitoring and static guarding.
Please note a driving licence is an essential requirement for this role. It would also be advantageous for candidates to hold an SIA licence; however, the successful candidate will be supported through the required training and licensing elements to gain an SIA licence if required.
Contract Details
- Weekly Hours: an average of 35 hours per week
- Work Pattern: 10-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off pattern compromising early shifts (6am – 4pm), dedicated shifts (3pm – 1am) and nightshifts (8pm – 6am) on a rotating pattern.
- Annual Salary: £25,104.57 - £28,875.02 on an incremental scale
- Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard hours (NSH) allowance of £5,345.51.
Key Pre-Employment Information
As part of the pre-employment checks for this post the successful candidate(s) will have to undergo a BS7858 Security Screening check which will involve a 5 or 10-year career history check, a financial probity check and criminal record screening. This will be completed in addition to the Council’s own standard pre-employment checks, which will be detailed to the successful candidate(s) following interviews.
