Overview
An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 8 LES Operative 3s to join our Parks and Open Spaces team on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Responsibilities
LES Operative 3\’s will be responsible for the maintenance of highways, properties, open spaces, inland waterways, and parks; carrying out semi-skilled work as required. This will involve operating and maintaining a range of complex equipment, machinery, and heavy plant/power tools e.g., Scag mowers, etc.
Applicants must be adaptable to ever changing workloads, have the ability to see tasks through to completion in a busy environment and to work with, guide and motivate other team members. Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety and public safety are essential, as are good communication skills as you will be dealing with the public on a daily basis in the park.
Applicants should be proficient in operating complex machinery requiring a high level of maintenance and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of horticulture and specialist practical skills such as landscaping and construction. A Horticulture Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) qualification, PA1/PA6 training and certification, a First Aid certificate, and a current driving licence are desirable.
Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: 4 on, 4 off rota between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm
Annual Salary: £25,151.16 – £26,745.03 on an incremental scale
Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2,173 and a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £1,172.
