An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Group Manager to lead our ASSIST (Advocacy Support Safety & Information Services Together) service on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027.
ASSIST is a specialist domestic abuse court advocacy service that supports people whose partner, or ex-partner, has a domestic abuse case going through the criminal court, regardless of their gender, age, ethnicity, sexuality, religious beliefs, disability or immigration status. The service supports people across Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire (East, North and South), Dumfries and Galloway, Dunbartonshire (East and West), Inverclyde, Lanarkshire (North and South), and Renfrewshire (including East Renfrewshire).
Reporting to the Head of Service (Communities and Regulatory Services), you will lead and manage the operational and strategic aspects of ASSIST, providing support and expert advice to other services in support of the council’s wider strategic aims and be a key link between internal and external stakeholders.
Holding an SCQF Level 9 qualification, membership of a relevant professional body, or having significant relevant experience at a senior level is an essential requirement of this role. Extensive experience within the Domestic Violence or similar sector is desirable. Excellent communication skills, the ability to influence at a strategic level, and the ability to work as part of a team at a senior level to achieve strategic goals are essential skills required in this role.

- Weekly Hours: 35
- Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Annual Salary: £76,900.55 - £81,080.19 on an incremental scale
- Hybrid working is available in this role.
The role is based in Glasgow; however, travel across Scotland may be required to meet business needs.
The position requires membership to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme (Vulnerable Adults & Children). The cost of membership, or scheme record update, will be met by the successful candidate(s). As part of the pre-employment checks for this post, the successful candidate(s) will have to undergo a Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 2 check which assesses the honesty, integrity, reliability, and overall suitability for clearance of non-police personnel who have unsupervised physical and/or remote access to police premises, classified police information and/or intelligence, financial or operational assets, and/or police systems.

For staff working Monday – Friday, this works out as a starting annual leave entitlement of 26 days, rising to 29 days, and 12.5 days’ public holidays. For staff working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, it works out as 18 shifts, rising to 20 shifts, and 9 shifts for public holidays. These amounts are the full-time equivalent and will be applied pro-rata for part-time appointments.
