An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for an Engineering Officer to join our Roads & Lighting Direct Services on a permanent basis. NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. Our Engineering Officers are responsible for a technical team that will support the delivery of high quality and best value roads, traffic, and winter maintenance front line neighbourhood services. The postholder will lead, manage, and develop a team of Technicians and Inspectors and will report directly to the Assistant Group Manager based at Gartcraig Depot. The role is critical to the delivery of Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 statutory duties to manage and maintain the local road network and associated infrastructure and the statutory requirement to notice roads works and comply with the Transport Bill.
An HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering/a related subject, or suitable relevant operational experience; plus, a current driving licence are essential requirements for this role. A degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject is desirable. Contract Details
- Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
- Work Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Annual Salary: £43,956.89 - £51,154.27 on an incremental scale
