Overview
Suitably qualified electricians are required to repair, install, maintain and monitor the City’s street lighting network in a safe manner and in compliance with electrical technical standards. You will be a City & Guilds, SVQ Level 3 Approved Electrician / Electrician after serving a recognised apprenticeship. City & Guilds 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018), valid Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card and Health & Safety Assessment certificate are essential. City & Guilds Electrical Testing and Inspection and Scottish Power ERG39 authorisation (WI-1, OP-3 limited to L-30) are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Repair, install, maintain and monitor the street lighting network in a safe manner and in compliance with electrical technical standards.
- Provide customer service with good communication and organisational skills, and demonstrate the ability to make decisions, manage change and deliver results.
- Work with a current driving licence and have the ability to work at heights.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Good working knowledge of the current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards and Codes of Practice for electrical distribution.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018) and ECS card.
- Health & Safety Assessment certificate.
- Authorisation and previous experience in public lighting installation/maintenance are desirable.
- LGV Driving licence, Class C1 or driving licence gained prior to 1 January 1997, Spider Training (Static Boom) IPAF (1b) and Driver\’s Certificate of Professional Competence are desirable.
- A 4 on/4 off working pattern is in operation which includes weekend working.
