An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 4 Drivers (ASL) to join our Transport Services team on a permanent basis. NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. Our Drivers (ASL) are responsible for the safe transportation of passengers and goods to and from both Education and Social Services establishments. It is therefore essential that applicants have knowledge of traffic regulations and of the City of Glasgow areas and street names, along with good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of transporting passengers is desirable.
A full current PSV vehicle driving licence which is Category D and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence is an essential requirement of this role. As part of the pre-employment check process, successful candidates will also have to satisfactorily complete a driver’s assessment.
Contract Details
- Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week plus 3.5 hours contractual overtime
- Work Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Annual Salary: £25,151.16 - £26,745.03 on an incremental scale
- Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts an annual payment of £3,884.12- £4,123.20 for the 3.5 hours per week contractual overtime; a non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £1,357 per annum; and a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £743 per annum.
Key Pre-Employment Information
The position requires membership to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme (Vulnerable Adults & Children). The cost of membership, or scheme record update, will be met by the successful candidate(s). As part of the pre-employment checks for this post the successful candidate(s) will require to undergo a pre-employment medical and GP clearance.
