The opportunity to play a key role within Glasgow City Council’s Property and Consulting Services department.
This position involves on-site electrical clerk of works duties for various projects around Glasgow, reporting to the Assistant Group Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring, recording, and reporting the progress of electrical services contractors working on-site as part of the council investment programme.
- Reviewing contract documents such as drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and related materials to understand project requirements.
- Ensuring work quality aligns with drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Issuing remedial work notices promptly when materials or workmanship do not meet standards, and informing the Electrical Engineer/Contract Administrator.
- Reviewing weekly and short-term programmes of electrical contractors and advising relevant engineers of findings.
- Witnessing and recording tests and commissioning activities as required by specifications and authorities.
- Supporting the design team and conducting surveys and small-scale design of existing building services.
