Contract: Permanent, Salaried, 37.5 hours per week

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Executive Management Group as a Head of Marketing and Communications. You will work with the CEO, Directors and Executive Team to create, develop, plan, manage and deliver a strategic sales, marketing and communication plan to achieve GSC’s corporate objectives on a consistent basis across a range of channels.

You will raise the profile of GSC with innovative campaigns and marketing collateral, constructing relevant and exciting messages to a diverse range of audiences that are simple, clear and consistent. You will also manage, inspire and motivate the Communications team to deliver a creative and exciting marketing and communications plan using different media to maximise engagement numbers (and income) from all audiences including public, education, government and industry.

  • Raise the profile of GSC with innovative campaigns and clear messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Lead and develop the Communications team to deliver media and marketing across multiple channels.

  • Q2. Glasgow Science Centre has a diverse portfolio of science learning programmes and commercial activities and is made up of many operational departments some of which have competing objectives. How would you ensure that all staff from the top to the bottom of the organisation, no matter their department objectives, deliver consistent messaging across all media to our different audiences?
  • Q3. Being our Head of Marketing and Communications will require exceptional organisational skills with the expectation of multiple campaigns being initiated, developed, scheduled and delivered concurrently. How would you manage the full process to ensure that a steady stream of projects and campaigns move from initiation through to delivery?
  • Q4. How would you structure and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team?
  • Q5. Please provide examples of campaigns you have led that demonstrate measurable impact against strategic objectives.
