Applications are invited for aLecturer in Painting and Printmaking (0.8 FTE)inthe School of Fine Art

The person we are looking for will co-work with the Painting & Printmaking team within the School of Fine Art to provide a challenging and supportive, student-centred learning experience for students on the programme, providing ethical and generative teaching within our specialist subject areas.

They will play an important role in all aspects of delivering and enhancing the programme with regard to learning, teaching and feedback. They will be joining and supporting a dynamic and caring staff team, teaching and promoting an innovative, specialist and inclusive curriculum.

The person we are looking forwill take responsibility for aspects of curriculum development and will take on a student-facing Year Lead role as required – with particular focus on entry level students coming to us from schools and colleges. You will have an interest in supporting students into a Fine Art education and developing their excitement about what this could become for them.

The person we are looking for will be applying to us withprevious teaching experience in Fine Art and experience of community-building and collaborative teaching practices within Arts education.

We are reaching out to candidateswith an excellent understanding of current debates and issues relating to the subject area and specialism, who will be educated to Masters level (which is essential), and may have a PhD (which is desirable)

The person we are looking forwill be an active practice-based researcher with an established profile in the field and the ambition and ability to contribute to the School’s research. They will be interested to engage their own research within their teaching practice, materially and thematically.
