Overview
Southbank surgery is planning to recruit a motivated Practice Nurse to work alongside our current experienced Practice Nurse. We have flexibility on the hours of 18-22 per week. We are a 5 partner, forward thinking training practice. We also have 1 salaried GP, and 9 reception / admin / secretarial staff. We also have an allocated team of pharmacist, Physio & ANP.
About the Role
We are a friendly training practice with circa 7200 patients seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Practice Nurse to join our experienced clinical team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care, contribute to the management of long-term conditions, and provide support for preventative health care initiatives within the practice.
Responsibilities
- Management of patients with chronic diseases (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension).
- Cervical cytology (if appropriately trained).
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice.
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support safe, effective, and person-centred care.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Experienced in primary care nursing (although applications from nurses with transferable skills and a willingness to develop will be considered).
- Flexible, well-organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
- Additional skills such as independent prescribing / advance clinical assessment or chronic disease diplomas are desirable but not essential as training could be considered for the right candidate.
