Kinfauns Medical Practice is a friendly practice based in Drumchapel Health Centre, and has approximately 3000 patients registered. It is a 2 GP partner practice with one salaried doctor also. We benefit from community link worker, in house pharmacy advisors, and have various other patient facilities on site within the health centre. Free on-site parking available with excellent transport links (bus stops outside health centre) and Drumchapel train station a short walk away. We also have lots of lunch options just across the street!

We are keen to add a friendly, enthusiastic, and well-motivated receptionist to our team. This position is 20-30 hours per week. Days and spread will be negotiable. We may have scope for 2 positions depending on job-sharing requests. Flexibility with hours is essential, to cover the surgery at other times for annual leave or sickness etc, but we usually split receptionist shifts between morning and afternoon, with a few hours cross-cover – however we can adjust this according to interest.

Experience in general practice or a health care environment is preferred, but not essential as full in-house training will be given to the right candidate(s). Applicants should have good IT skills/understanding. Previous experience with EMIS & Docman software systems would be advantageous, but not essential. Applicants must be polite, and have an excellent telephone manner as well as good communication and organisational skills when dealing with our patients/the general public. We are a close-knit team that work very well together and are keen to find the right person to enhance this.

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with patients at reception and on the phone
  • Making appointments
  • Result handling
  • Dealing with general enquiries
  • Processing repeat prescription requests
  • Typing, scanning clinical correspondence
  • Dealing with delegated tasks from clinical staff
  • General administration

Salary will be dependent on experience (starting rate £14/hour) and the successful applicant will be entitled to join the SPPA Pension scheme. Informal visits for more information/a look around are welcome. Please apply if interested using the email addresses below with CV and cover letter.
