An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Technical Supervisor within Glasgow City Health Social Care Partnership’s (GCHSCP) Community Equipment Service, where you will report to the Assistant Stores and Distribution Manager.

You will be part of a team responsible for the management of the stores and distribution function of one of the UK’s largest Assistive Technology operations, serving an area which covers over 28% of the Scottish population. GCHSCP operates the Community Equipment Service on behalf of the EquipU partners, which consists of six local authorities and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS.

The main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision, support and motivation of Occupational Therapist Technicians, Drivers and Recycling Supervisor to ensure compliance with service procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to ensure the installation, delivery, repair and maintenance of community equipment is carried out to the highest standard for the EquipU partners and service users.
  • Working with the Assistant Stores and Distribution Manager to identify procedural requirements and improvements, as well as monitor performance within their area.

It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence. Previous experience of supervising and working within a service/distribution environment is desirable. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
