What you’ll do

As a Senior Arts Officer, you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Senior Arts and Music Manager. You’ll play an essential role overseeing and managing our Creative Communities programme, which covers three main areas of work - an embedded Artists in Communities programme, year round Community Touring activity and Creative Intervention work, including Gaelic Arts, sector development and skills development. The Merchant City Festival is also programmed and delivered by this team. The Senior Arts Officer will manage a small team of Arts Officers who are key to delivering these projects. They will also work closely with the Music Officers.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role. If the following sounds like you, apply today!

  • Education to degree level or equivalent vocational training in arts, community or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to deal with internal and external stakeholders in complex working environment
  • Experience managing, developing and producing creative activity
  • Experience managing, developing and producing community-based activity
  • Strong project-management skills with an ability to effectively prioritise work to set and meet targets and deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of the arts and community sectors in Glasgow and across Scotland
  • Ability to handle complex situations calmly and sensitively
  • Ability to manage delegated budgets
  • Excellent digital and IT skills with a thorough working knowledge of key software packages (e.g. MS Office and online conferencing platforms including Teams)
  • Ability to lead and inspire a small, busy and high-performing team
