Glasgow Life is looking for a Project & Service Development Officer to join us on a 35 full time, permanent contract. As Project & Service Development Officer you will be joining our in-demand Glasgow Sport service, focusing on project management of service development initiatives and growing our partnerships across a range of sports and with strategic partners.

As a Project & Service Development Officer you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. Through sport and physical activity, we promote inclusion and wellbeing throughout the city. From Glasgow Club to our Learn to Swim programmes, the services we provide allow people to experience the life-changing benefits of participating in sports at all levels.

The role: As Project & Service Development Officer, you will be an integral part of the team by leading on the project management of service development initiatives and partnerships. You will lead and oversee the coordination of Glasgow Sport's capital and infrastructure investment programme and play a pivotal role in managing the governance structure necessary to deliver Glasgow Sport's vision for service development and reinvestment, aiming to enhance income generation while supporting social agendas, including addressing health inequalities.

The candidate: If you’re interested in joining us as a Project & Service Development Officer you’ll need:

  • Relevant project management qualification or experience in project management, preferably within the Leisure industry.
  • The experience to drive and expand the commercial focus of Glasgow Sport, identifying and prioritising opportunities for new income streams.
  • Experience of planning complex projects taking account of multiple funding sources and stakeholders and effectively reporting progress, risks and issues.
  • Experience of contract tendering and procurement experience.
  • Effective planning, coordination, problem solving and organisational skills.

We offer hybrid working for some roles, with teams working between the office and home. Your line manager will agree these days with you, if suitable. This balance enables you to continue much-needed collaborative working. Our office bases at Commonwealth House in Glasgow City Centre and Emirates Arena in the east end of Glasgow both offer great links to public transport and Emirates Arena provides free parking. This role is working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with the requirement to work at times in evenings and weekends to meet our charity’s needs.
