Ready to make a splash in your career? We’re looking for passionate Glasgow Life Assistants (Pool Lifeguards) to join our vibrant Glasgow Life Sport team on permanent full-time 35-hour contracts. You’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. Through sport and physical activity, we promote inclusion and wellbeing throughout the city. From Glasgow Club to our Learn to Swim programmes, the services we provide allow people to experience the life-changing benefits of participating in sports at all levels.
What You’ll Do:
As a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard), you'll play a key role in providing excellent customer service to swimmers and visitors at our sports venues. You'll ensure high standards of service from reception to poolside, keeping the venue clean and assisting with bookings and payments. You'll also help prepare activities and events. Reporting to the Duty Manager and working with the team, you'll be responsible for supervising the pools and ensuring customer safety.
What We’re Looking For:
- Confident swimming ability (able to achieve a timed 100m swim & deep dive).
- Existing pool lifeguard qualification OR willingness to achieve the STA Pool Lifeguard qualification within 12 weeks (training provided by Glasgow Life).
- Commitment to ongoing training to maintain your qualification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Role Details
Part-time: 10 hours per week, Saturday or Sunday. Shifts will be 0830 hours to 1830 hours. Our city-wide teams support venues across Glasgow as required, but everyone has a primary venue. Work at one of our fantastic pool venues across Glasgow: Castlemilk, North Woodside, Drumchapel, Pollok and Easterhouse (dependant on available vacancies).
