What you need to know

  • Hours: 13.5 per week. 8 posts, a rotating schedule of every other weekend and 2 weekdays
  • Hours: 13 per week. 1 post. Every weekend, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Hours: 35 per week. 1 post. Full-time post, 5 days over 7, working every other weekend.
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is ÂŁ14.37 per hour.
  • Location: City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.

What you’ll do

As a Gallery Assistant, you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Assistant Museum Manager. You’ll play an essential role in welcoming visitors to the Museums, delivering excellent customer service. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

  • Supporting our communities
  • Helping people get active
  • Creating cultural experiences
  • Or working behind the scenes to make it all happen

Who you are

  • Experience working as front of house staff
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and location
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy, and good IT skills
