To help us achieve that, we are looking for Community Services Supervisors to join our Community Library Operations team.

What you need to know

  • Full Time (35 Hours per week on a 2-week rota) A mix of daytime and early evening shifts across Monday–Friday, with one Saturday every other week:
    • Week 1: Mon, Wed, Fri: 9.30am – 5pm, Tues, Thurs: 12.30pm – 8pm.
    • Week 2: Mon, Fri, Sat: 9.30am – 5pm, Tues, Thurs: 12.30pm – 8pm.
  • Part Time (35 Hours across a 2-week rota) A balanced pattern across weekdays and alternate Saturdays:
    • Week 1: Mon, Sat: 9.30 am – 5.00pm
    • Week 2: Mon, Wed: 9.30am- 5.00pm, Tues: 12.30 pm – 8.00pm
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £16.98 per hour.
  • Location: City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.

What you’ll do

As a Community Services Supervisor you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Libraries & Communities Officer. You’ll play an essential role in the operational management of community libraries operated by Glasgow Life. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

  • Supporting our communities
  • Helping people get active
  • Creating cultural experiences
  • Or working behind the scenes to make it all happen

Who you are

  • Experience of operational management of premises
  • Good ICT skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to work on a flexible pattern of hours including weekend and evenings
  • Be able to work in locations within a hub and across the City.
