What you need to know

Hours: 28 hours per week.

Contract type: Permanent

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-

time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis.

Location: At City Halls & Old Fruitmarket with excellent public transport links and paid parking nearby.

What you’ll do

As an Assistant Technician you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Senior Technician. You’ll play an essential role in the delivery of concerts and events taking place in City Halls and Old Fruitmarket.

We’re looking for:

·      \\tDemonstrable experience in a technical role in an arts and culture venue.

·      \\tAbility to operate sound, lighting and multimedia systems for live event

\\t\\tdelivery.

·      \\tAbility to rig, de-rig, set up and dismantle sound, lighting and AV equipment

\\t\\tunder instruction, ensuring required standards.

·      \\tAbility to assist with technical maintenance, including Portable Appliance

\\t\\tTesting.

·      \\tAbility to provide technical assistance to colleagues and clients to ensure the

\\t\\teffective and efficient delivery of Glasgow Life events and services, ensuring

\\t\\tthat tasks are completed to deadlines.

·      \\tAbility to work at safely at heights, applying Health & Safety regulations.

·      \\tAbility to work as part of a team while showing initiative, proactivity and

\\t\\teffective time management.

·      \\tExperience in lifting, manual handling, assessing equipment needs and safe

\\t\\tuse. 

·      \\tExperience using power and hand tools.
