Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate for the role is £17.57 per hour.

Location: You’ll work city-wide in our museum venues although your main places of work will be the Mitchell Library and Glasgow Museums Resource Centre which have great links to public transport and parking.

What you’ll do: As assistant paper conservator, you’ll be a part of a well-established conservation team, reporting to a conservator. You’ll play an essential role carrying out remedial treatment and supporting preventive conservation in your specialist area. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

  • A recognised qualification in Conservation.
  • Proven experience of treating museum/archive collections to a professional standard, with full consideration of practical, access and ethical issues.
  • Proven experience of general collection care and preventive conservation.
