In conjunction with the Guidance & Wellbeing Manager, the post-holder will deliver and coordinate a range of wellbeing interventions and activities to support existing, new and returning students. This will include the extended College community in Glasgow and elsewhere, as part of a quality, efficient and effective service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a positive wellbeing culture and deliver campaigns and initiatives that enhance students' physical and mental health awareness.
  • Act as a first point of contact for wellbeing support, providing advice, managing referrals, and delivering workshops and activities to build students' resilience and self-management skills.
  • Work closely with Student Support colleagues, academic staff, and external partners to identify and support students at risk, ensuring coordinated and effective interventions.
  • Plan, deliver, and promote wellbeing services and represent the service at college and external events.
  • Contribute to the development of wellbeing platforms, maintain knowledge of emerging trends, and support continuous improvement of policies and practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, support reporting and evaluation, manage communications, and provide general administrative support to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies to enhance the support available to students.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Qualifications: Educated to HNC/SCQF level 7 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of the Further Education and/or Higher Education sector. Demonstrate knowledge of wellbeing and support.
  • Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of pastoral care and wellbeing; good level of IT Literacy including a working knowledge of MS Word, Teams, Access, and Excel; ability to work online and face to face; ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team; ability to remain calm in demanding situations; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident and self-motivated; potential flexibility to cover evening events as required.
  • Experience: Previous experience of working in a Mental Health/Wellbeing service; previous experience of working within a Further or Higher Education environment; previous experience of working within a customer care and client central environment; previous experience of working in an advocacy role.
