Join Us in Shaping the Future of Engineering Education. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering to join our Engineering Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry-experienced professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers and contributing to high-quality learning in Further Education.

As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, inclusive and innovative learning experiences across Access, NC, HNC and apprenticeship programmes. You will support learners to develop the knowledge and skills required for success in further study and the engineering workforce, while contributing to curriculum development, quality enhancement and wider college initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to diverse groups of learners.
  • Design, adapt and develop learning materials that inspire learners and reflect current industry practice.
  • Support students through effective guidance, pastoral support and the development of Individual Learning Plans.
  • Contribute to internal verification, quality processes, and ongoing programme improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, schools and external partners.
  • Use learning technologies and digital tools to enhance the student experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge through ongoing CPD and work towards TQFE (if required).

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Significant industry experience in Engineering.
  • Educated to HND / SCQF Level 8 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent such as City and Guilds or SVQs or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong practical competence with engineering systems, tools and equipment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, technologies and regulations.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive learning to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Strong ICT skills and confidence with digital learning platforms.

Desirable

  • Teaching Qualification (TQFE or equivalent) - or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience teaching or training in a post-compulsory education setting.
  • Familiarity with SQA assessment, verification and curriculum frameworks.
