The Faculty of Health, Wellbeing and Management at Glasgow Clyde College are seeking experienced SVQ Assessors specialising in Social Services and Healthcare. If you’re passionate about vocational training and committed to delivering high-quality assessments, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring candidate progress, arranging and conducting reassessments in the workplace using a variety of assessment techniques.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance and assessments, ensuring all documentation is processed according to College policies and in line with internal and external verification requirements.
  • Carrying out regular workplace visits to support and assess candidates, fostering strong relationships with both candidates and employers.
  • Engaging in the standardisation of assessment evidence to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Communicating progress and attainment effectively with candidates’ line managers, while adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Vocationally relevant HNC (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent.
  • Assessor and Verifier Awards (required).
  • A qualification at SCQF Level 9 (desirable).

Experience and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Social Services and/or Healthcare and up-to-date expertise through continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Previous experience in assessing SVQs within this field.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of candidates and employers.

Salary: £38,886 per annum (pro rata)

Location: Langside Campus. However, you may be required to travel and work within all Glasgow Clyde campuses as well as travel to visit candidates in their workplace.
