Join a forward-thinking Faculty shaping the technologies of tomorrow. We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical or Automotive Engineer to become part of the Faculty of Future Technologies and Design, supporting the School of Engineering as a key member of our technical support team.
In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of the learning experience, ensuring our workshops, equipment and resources are fully prepared, safe and ready to support high-quality teaching and learning. You’ll deliver a responsive and efficient technical support service, maintaining equipment and machinery, preparing materials for classes, projects and assessments, and managing stock levels of essential consumables.
You’ll also work closely with academic staff and students, providing practical support and guidance while helping to maintain a safe, compliant and well-organised learning environment in line with health and safety legislation.
We’re looking for someone educated to SVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent), or with relevant qualifications, apprenticeship training or substantial industry experience. A strong understanding of engineering, health and safety practices is essential, and experience supporting curriculum delivery or working within a training or educational environment would be a distinct advantage.
