Seeking a Personal Assistant to help support my mum with daily living in and around her house. Margaret is a sociable person who enjoys company and is happy and comfortable at home watching television or having a chat whilst listening to music. I am looking for someone who is friendly, patient, caring and dependable to keep my mum safe and happy at home. She has a good sense of humour and likes someone who can match this.
Your role will also include offering companionship and encouragement, helping Margaret continue to enjoy her passions and independence. A typical day will include:
- Supporting with daily medication
- Support washing and dressing
- Making/supporting make breakfast
- Ensuring she is safe when moving around the house
Other days will require more personal care: bathing, hair washing and some light household chores including washing and ironing. My mum can’t manage some tasks at all and needs support with most others throughout her day at home as she has limited safety awareness and is unsteady on her feet. Margaret is a smoker and she has a small dog.
This position is based in Cardonald – Southside/Glasgow, and the role is for 14 hours per week. Shift days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 10.00AM - 12.00PM, Fridays 10.00AM - 4.00PM. The gross hourly rate is £13.60. A driving license is preferred but not essential.
