The Corporate Communications team plays a strategic role in supporting the university's reputation and engagement through messaging across media relations, internal communications, crisis response, and social media. Key outputs include the staff intranet, newsletters, official emails, media stories, and video content.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Communications Officer (0.4 FTE, fixed term) for a 10-month period to support the School of Health and Life Sciences during a pattern adjustment. This part-time role involves developing and delivering communications that promote the university's mission, research, and partnerships, focusing on the School of Health and Life Sciences.

You will work closely with senior leaders, academic experts, and colleagues to craft compelling narratives that enhance the university's reputation locally and globally. Responsibilities include proactive media relations, reputational risk management, content creation, and stakeholder advising on communications best practices.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, planning, stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement, and a confident understanding of digital and media landscapes. You should be able to work independently and contribute to high-impact communications aligned with the university's strategy and values.
