Job Description

Glasgow Caledonian University, a vibrant and values-led institution, is seeking a Lecturer in Law. We are committed to high-quality education and research, supporting our communities and employers to ensure our students achieve their desired careers.

Our Department of Economics and Law is a key area of strength, focusing on undergraduate LLB and innovative LLM in International Commercial Law programs. We have seen significant growth in the last three years and are now looking for a full-time, open-ended lecturer to join our team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, program administration, and student supervision. They should hold a relevant qualification and have significant experience in teaching law subjects, with the ability to contribute to our LLB and LLM programs.

We particularly welcome candidates who can contribute to teaching and research development in areas such as the law of obligations, property and environmental law, intellectual property, or broader private law subjects. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable.

The successful candidate will also lead the strategic growth and development of mooting at GCU, supporting students in local, national, and international competitions. They should demonstrate evidence of a developing research agenda, including experience in sourcing external funding, producing academic publications, and engaging in effective dissemination of their work.
