The Opportunity

Join our kitchen team as a Commis Chef and be part of a supportive, professional kitchen where development and teamwork are truly valued. In this role, you will support food preparation and basic cooking under the guidance of our experienced Chef de Parties. You will rotate through key kitchen sections — including sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery — giving you the opportunity to build a strong foundation while learning a wide range of skills. Our menu brings together modern British and European cuisine, alongside comforting, feel‑good dishes and healthy options. You will be encouraged to learn, ask questions and gradually showcase your developing skills, knowing that you are supported by a team that wants you to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation and basic cooking across different kitchen sections
  • Learn and rotate through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery
  • Follow guidance from senior chefs to develop skills, consistency and kitchen knowledge
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety at all times
  • Keep your work area clean, organised and well prepared for service
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth and efficient service
  • Show willingness to learn, develop and apply new skills
