The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Specialist to join our Public Engagement team. Working with the Head of Public Engagement, in the Games Experience division, the Engagement Specialist will play a key role in the development and delivery of cultural programmes, national engagement initiatives, and participatory projects. In collaboration with communities, cultural organisations and external partners, the Engagement Specialist will create opportunities for communities and young people across Scotland to gather, take part in sport and physical activity, and celebrate culture and diversity. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engagement professional with strong relationship management skills and a passion for cultural programming, sport, and youth and community engagement.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • This role is suited to someone who has experience overseeing the delivery of a programme of cultural projects, engagement initiatives and participatory projects produced in collaboration with communities, young people, cultural organisations, and external stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of engagement programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and legacy ambitions.
  • This will also include overseeing project plans, timelines and budgets, identifying and addressing risks and issues to support successful delivery.
  • It is essential for candidates to have experience delivering engagement, cultural, community or participatory programmes, ideally within a large-scale event.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with community and youth organisations, cultural institutions and external partners is also required to make the role a success.
  • In addition to being a strong communicator both verbally and written, we are seeking someone with strong project management skills, which includes proven experience overseeing multiple workstreams, budgets and timelines.
