Our Group HR team plays a vital role in supporting managers and employees across the business, delivering commercially focused people solutions whilst ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and promoting best practice throughout the employee lifecycle.
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable HR Advisor to join our established Group HR team on a part-time basis. This is a varied generalist HR role requiring a confident HR professional with substantial experience advising managers on complex employee relations matters, interpreting employment legislation and supporting organisational development. The successful candidate will work closely with managers across the business, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice whilst contributing to the continuous development of HR policies, procedures and people practices.
- Provide professional, commercially focused HR advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of UK employment law, Company policy and best practice.
- Independently manage a broad range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, probation, flexible working and performance management cases.
- Produce high-quality investigation reports, meeting documentation, outcome letters, contracts of employment and other HR correspondence.
- Manage recruitment activities across the full employee lifecycle, from workforce planning and attraction through to onboarding and probation.
- Review, develop and implement HR policies, procedures, templates and guidance documents to ensure legal compliance and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes, enhancing efficiency and supporting a positive employee experience.
- Support learning and development initiatives, employee engagement activities and organisational development projects.
- Analyse HR metrics and workforce data, preparing reports and recommendations to support business decision making.
- Maintain accurate HR records and systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and Company standards.
- Build strong working relationships with managers across all departments, acting as a trusted HR advisor.
- Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation, proactively recommending updates to Company policies and practices.
- Provide HR support in relation to trade union matters, including preparing for and attending consultation meetings, collective discussions and negotiations where required.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with recognised trade union representatives to support effective employee relations.
- Deliver accurate, timely and commercially balanced HR advice across the business.
- Ensure employee relations cases are managed professionally, consistently and in accordance with Company procedures and UK employment legislation.
- Support the continuous development of HR policies, procedures and documentation to reflect legislative changes and business needs.
- Drive improvements to HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Deliver an efficient, professional recruitment and onboarding experience.
- Produce accurate HR reporting that supports workforce planning and operational decision making.
- Develop strong relationships with managers, promoting confidence in the HR function.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of a proactive, modern and commercially focused HR department.
Extensive experience in a generalist HR Advisor position.
Proven experience independently managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.
Experience developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies, procedures and best practice.
Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting professional HR documentation.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
Experience supporting organisational change and business improvement projects.
Experience using HRIS, Learning Management Systems and recruitment platforms.
Experience analysing HR metrics and producing management reports.
Experience supporting employee wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
Part-time, permanent position. Working pattern to be agreed (approximately 22.5–30 hours per week), Monday to Friday. Competitive starting salary.
