GLAS is embarking on several strategic programs to enhance and strengthen its global product and service capabilities. In support of this growth, the Business Solutions technology team is looking to onboard an experienced BI Lead with a strong background in Finance to drive the evolution of our data and intelligence capabilities.
This role will play a key part in delivering enterprise-wide reporting and analytics solutions, aligned to our strategic roadmap and designed to empower decisionâmaking, enhance data governance, and support the delivery of highâquality services to our clients.
The Role
This role encompasses three core areas: Governance and Strategy, Enterprise Reporting, and Leadership. You will bring proven experience across all three, using your deep BI expertise not only to deliver impactful insights but also to embed best practices, standardise reporting, optimise development and delivery processes and manage a growing team of BI Analysts.
Reporting to the Head of BI, this position offers a balance of handsâon technical work and leadership, with the opportunity to guide a team of developers in a collaborative, growthâoriented environment while strategising and delivering enterprise level reporting objectives.
As BI Lead, you will lead the design policy and deployment of a comprehensive reporting framework for both internal and external stakeholders. You'll shape the strategic direction of BI initiatives, implementing a robust data governance process to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of all reporting outputs. You will have demonstrable skills in Power BI, including the management and maintenance of the Power BI service and applications developed in Power Apps. You will identify gaps in our development processes and set strong governance on new development processes. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver scalable, highâimpact solutions while planning for longâterm scalable and strategic growth.
Beyond technical expertise and strategic planning, this role requires strong leadership to support, mentor and guide a small team of developers, ensuring objectives are delivered within the ISO framework. You'll play a pivotal role in building and nurturing a highâperforming BI team and serve as the primary point of contact for BIârelated requests, including direct client engagement. You'll be a natural problem solver, adept at managing incoming queries, prioritising tasks, and effective at delegating. Representing the BI team in daily standâups, you'll ensure the backlog is wellâmaintained with clearly defined Jira stories that provide the necessary context for smooth delivery. You will be keen to foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

- Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing highâperforming teams, fostering collaboration and innovation. Ability to set clear goals, mentor team members, and drive performance through effective oversight and accountability.
- Extensive Power BI Expertise: Over 7 years of handsâon experience with Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Report Builder. Proven ability to design and deliver complex, scalable dashboards and reports.
- Advanced Reporting Capabilities: Skilled in building paginated reports, embedding Power BI content into applications, and implementing robust RowâLevel Security (RLS) for secure data access.
- Power BI Service & Tenant Administration: Deep understanding of Power BI service administration, including workspace governance, deployment pipelines, and tenantâlevel configurations.
- Data Modelling & Visualization: Advanced skills in dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, and crafting intuitive, insightâdriven visualisations.
- Strategic Thinking & Data Governance: Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable BI solutions.
- Microsoft Fabric Proficiency: Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly in the data warehousing and One Lake components, enabling unified data architecture and analytics.
- Power Platform Integration: Expertise in Power Automate and PowerApps for workflow automation and lowâcode application development.
- Modern Data Warehousing: Proven track record in designing and maintaining enterpriseâgrade data warehouses using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and related tools.
- SQL & Microsoft Stack Mastery: Strong command of SQL Server, TâSQL, and the broader Microsoft data ecosystem.
- Agile Delivery & DevOps: Experienced in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), SDLC, and tools like Jira and Azure DevOps for backlog management and CI/CD pipelines.
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in navigating stakeholder relationships and aligning team efforts with broader business objectives.
- Education & Continuous Learning: Educated to degree level in a relevant field, with a commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging BI trends.
