Our team delivers professional advice throughout all stages of a project, with strong experience across a broad range of sectors. We have established offices in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bristol, and Cambridgeshire, and continue to grow our presence and client base.

Our Oxfordshire office hosts a small, close-knit Building Surveying team, and we are looking to expand by introducing a Senior Building Surveyor to support the Associate Director. This role offers the chance to act as a key member of the team, providing support across all aspects of the department’s work and helping drive the growth of our client base. This is a permanent position offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to step into a pivotal role, develop their career, and contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic team.

Candidates should have a qualification in the Built Environment (preferably a degree in Building Surveying) and 5+ years’ post-qualification experience across core building surveying disciplines and within the project environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertaking condition surveys and preparing reports for a variety of purposes
  • Carrying out party wall matters
  • Taking accurate particulars on site
  • Preparing project budget costs
  • Providing design information to support our CAD technicians in preparing drawing packages
  • Attending meetings and interim site inspections
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; preparing drawing packages for construction is advantageous
  • Submitting planning and building control applications
  • Writing up specifications and schedules of work
  • Acting as Principal Designer under CDM2015
  • Attending site visits and meetings to monitor the progress of construction works

Preferably a Chartered Member of RICS or with breadth and depth of experience and competence in building surveying. Qualification in the Built Environment (preferably a degree in Building Surveying) with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience. Strong technical knowledge and practical competence. Excellent oral and written communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy; able to produce high-quality reports. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical, practical mindset. Ability to work independently with support from senior management where necessary. Proactive “can-do” attitude, willing to engage in all aspects of departmental work. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Negotiation, presentation, and report-writing skills. Commercial awareness, ensuring maximum value is delivered to clients. Ability to take on high levels of responsibility with enthusiasm and motivation. Proficient IT skills. Full UK driving license. Reasonable level of fitness and mobility, as the role may involve climbing ladders and scaffold at times.
