We are a multi-discipline consultancy providing engineering, design and surveying expertise to the construction industry, with the skills to offer professional advice through all stages of a project together with extensive experience across all sectors. We have established offices in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bristol and Cambridge. We have a permanent opportunity within our Structural Engineering team for a Graduate Engineer with experience in a structural engineering consultancy. This role is based in our Hemel Hempstead office. Our team works on a variety of projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, R&D, energy, and residential, covering both new builds and refurbishments. We collaborate closely with our in‑house teams, offering expertise in structural and civil engineering, traffic and transport engineering, building surveying, and geomatics. Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Use industry software (e.g., Tekla and TEDDS).
  • Work closely with architects, clients, subcontractors, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Assist in project planning, coordination, and reporting.
  • Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Take the initiative in problem‑solving and providing design solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and sustainability considerations.
  • Work towards Chartership (IStructE/ICE) with our support.
  • Conduct site visits to assess projects and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Ensure projects comply with statutory requirements, including health and safety.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
  • 2+ years’ experience in a structural consultancy (preferred).
  • Proficiency in structural design software and engineering principles.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and self‑motivated approach to learning and development.
  • Design experience in all common building materials.
  • Understanding of geotechnics and foundation design.
  • Ability to professionally represent the Company.
  • Competency in preparing structural designs across various materials.
