Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and highly motivated Planner to join our Reactive Civils Team based in Exeter or Plymouth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating operations across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and prioritise works in line with operational demands and risk categories.
  • Coordinate resources, including operatives, plant, traffic management, and subcontractors.
  • Allocate and manage jobs through internal management systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date schedules to ensure operational visibility.
  • Liaise with operational teams to support the successful delivery of works.
  • Manage and coordinate Streetworks notices and permits, ensuring compliance and avoiding FPNs.
  • Monitor progress, feedback, and performance, resolving scheduling conflicts where required.
  • Produce and maintain reports using Microsoft and other planning systems
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, including attending scheduled meetings via Microsoft teams.
  • Provide administrative and planning support to the wider business.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role (construction, civils, utilities, or similar preferred)
  • A good telephone manner
  • To be computer literate, with good written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive approach and be able to work self-directed and be self-organised
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure when needed
  • Dynamic and pro-active approach to working and assisting the project team delivery work effectively and efficiently
  • A team player with good organisational skills
