The Role: As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will deliver innovative and technically challenging mechanical engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) and Civil works. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for municipal water and wastewater projects. The role demands strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to manage mechanical aspects of projects from design through to completion.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is preferred.
- At least 3 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in the water and wastewater industry.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines (civil, electrical, process, etc.) and provide technical and commercial guidance in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of resolving technical issues and managing project changes.
- In‑depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in mechanical design and construction, particularly in water and wastewater sectors.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Ability to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively, ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Full UK Driving License.
