Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers about process design requirements.
- Create process calculations.
- Create process flow diagrams.
- Create piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- Specify process equipment and document specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
- Review and assess unfamiliar anaerobic digestion processes for optimisation or safety.
- Design and implement solutions for plant upgrades.
- Produce process and instrumentation diagrams reflecting agreed scope.
- Develop process specifications and associated equipment selection.
- Confirm pipework line sizes via head loss calculations to confirm pump and compressor requirements.
- Input into all phases of projects, including business development and client/subcontractor liaison.
- Oversee building and commissioning of projects.
- Provide client support by conducting full site surveys covering equipment selection and process assessments.
- Undertake site DSEAR assessments to highlight improvement areas and maintain compliance with industry best practice.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree qualified in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in process improvement and production of process calculations.
- Understanding of the anaerobic digestion process.
- Familiarity with instrumentation functions and capabilities.
- Ability to create engineering line diagrams and process instrumentation diagrams.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and basic AutoCAD 2D skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- Experience with head loss calculations.
- Working knowledge of pumping solutions and pump selection.
- Understanding of CDM responsibilities and associated health & safety requirements in construction and design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to travel.
- Full driving licence.
- Knowledge of legislative safety and design standards.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and collaborative team player.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
