We are looking for a confident and experienced deputy manager to join a children’s home in Colchester, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an established Registered Manager, helping to lead the home, support staff development, and deliver outstanding care.

About the Role

As deputy manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, supporting the team, and ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are consistently met. You will step up to lead in the absence of the Registered Manager and help drive a positive, structured and nurturing environment for both staff and young people.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people with EBD
  • Experience supervising or leading staff within a residential setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare (minimum)
  • Someone ready to grow into senior leadership

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support the day-to-day operations of the home

  • Support care planning, risk assessments, and record keeping
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted and regulatory requirements
