The role of Senior Category Manager will be directly responsible for building customer relationships across all of our customer portfolio. An externally facing position, this role will build relationships via compelling stories and work to unlock new relationships at our retailers positioning Glanbia as Category leader. The role will look to inspire and engage retailers and therefore lead the direction of retailers thinking for the upcoming years supported with a category manager to provide the relevant toolkit to win externally.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high influencing and engagement skills and have a proven track record of building strong retailer relationships from scratch.
Responsibilities- Deliver best in class selling stories for our category and brands, which engage and inspire our customers to partner with us for growth.
- Ability to inspire and engage through interactions.
- Innovative, solution focused mind set and ability to drive collaboration across different functional groups to achieve goals.
- Passion to make significant contributions to GPN through continuous process & ways of working improvement.
- Execute short and long term strategies and activities consistent with GPN objectives & goals.
- To develop strong customer relationships within the structure of the business from commercial team, marketing and innovation.
- Work closely with sales and cat/shopper team on developing and tracking of sales fundamentals gains in-store (distribution, share of shelf, quality of shelf, activation buy-ins).
- Work with retailers to become THE go to trusted partner for category recommendations and advice.
- Build strong relationships with key industry contacts.
- Represent GPN at customer events and forums.
- Experience of category management & proven track record of winning partnerships both internally and externally.
- Drive to keep up to date in consumer and shopper trends.
- Proven experience of working in a fast paced, high growth environment.
- Proven experience of collaborating across key external stakeholders.
- Past demonstrable experience of building engaging, exciting customer strategy stories.
- Understands the different needs of customers.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively.
- Good common sense and initiative.
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
