This varied role sits in the Continental Europe team and will focus on turning category data and insights into compelling insights, reports and recommendations that support category growth and planning, both internally and externally. You will lead the analysis of a variety of data sets and platforms across priority markets, analysing market trends, shopper behaviour and the competitive landscape, with the output being leveraged to drive growth of the sports nutrition category and instrumental in driving rate of sale.
Responsibilities:
- Own category data and analytics, manipulating and translating large data sets into actionable insights using a variety of sources and data outputs from providers and platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, Tableau, local distributor reports and Amazon 1DS.
- Distil market insight and trends to build value adding and insight led category growth recommendations to deliver thought leadership and influence the distributor/retailer partners category planning.
- Partner and collaborate with local customer teams to gain a deep understanding of the local market retail landscape, shoppers and our distributor and retail partners, ensuring the delivery of tailored market level recommendations.
- Utilise data and insight to create category/brand range and SKU level recommendations by market and by channel.
- Lead regular internal reporting and tracking of category, competitor and brand performance in key markets, sharing with internal stakeholders to drive a thorough understanding of market dynamics, opportunities and to support best practice and learning.
- Leverage category and competitor performance drivers to recommend adjustments in our activation plans or strategy to maximise growth e.g. promotions, product hierarchy and innovation opportunities.
- Drive omni-channel thinking – working in close collaboration with the E-Commerce Centre of Excellence to build and deploy an E-Retail Category Strategy, to help shape and lead the development of the sports nutrition category online.
- Consider digital first consumers and the key category principles to enable Glanbia to win on the digital shelf.
- Present insights in external customer meetings and internal commercial planning sessions with clear recommendations to influence action.
- Foster a data and insight led culture by sharing data, dashboards, and best practices across teams.
The Skills you will bring to the team:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the data analytics and/or category management function.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in using a variety of data sources and platforms such as Circana and Nielsen, with the ability to distil complex data into key insights to shape business performance and inform decision making.
- Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and using data and insight to deliver actionable, data-driven external facing recommendations.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
- A collaborative mindset, able to work cross-functionally to influence and to make things happen.
- Excellent communication capabilities with the ability to translate insights easily into compelling storytelling and clear rationale.
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment with a flexible mindset and a drive to make things happen.
- A passion for fitness, nutrition and wellbeing.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Fluent English required. Additional Continental European languages highly desirable (French, Dutch, Spanish and/or Italian).
