The Head of Trade Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Glanbia Nutrition UK’s commercial success. This position will lead the development and execution of the UK Category, Trade, Shopper and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) strategy across all channels — including Grocery, Convenience, E-Commerce, Speciality and Health & Fitness. This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for driving profitable growth through best-in-class trade marketing execution, category partnerships, and data-led commercial decision-making. The successful candidate will also be tasked with building and embedding new trade marketing capability within the UK business from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Lead the development and execution of Glanbia Nutrition UK’s Category, Trade Marketing, Shopper and RGM strategy across all key channels.
    • Partner with the Commercial Director and Sales Leadership Team to shape and deliver the annual commercial plan.
    • Build and embed new trade marketing processes, tools and capabilities to enhance in-market execution and ROI.
    • Champion a data-driven, shopper-centric approach to all commercial decisions.
  • Category Management & Customer Engagement
    • Play a leading role in forming and developing category partnerships with our priority customers to drive joint business growth and category leadership.
    • Lead and develop the category team to use shopper insights, market data, and trends to influence retailer strategies, space, and ranging decisions.
    • Represent the voice of the shopper and category internally and externally, ensuring our plans create value for both customers and consumers.
  • Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
    • Develop and implement RGM frameworks and plans to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
    • Optimize price pack architecture (PPA), promotional strategy, and trade investment efficiency across channels.
    • Work collaboratively with Finance and Sales to ensure clear ROI measurement and commercial discipline.
  • Trade Marketing & Execution
    • Support the Trade & Shopper team to translate brand plans into effective shopper marketing and trade activation plans across Grocery, Convenience, Online and AFH channels.
    • Deliver outstanding execution at the point of purchase, driving visibility, conversion, and brand salience.
    • Manage the annual trade calendar, ensuring alignment between brand priorities and customer activation cycles.
    • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team across Category, Trade Marketing and RGM.
    • Create a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Support capability development across the wider commercial team.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Proven experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or RGM within an FMCG or Consumer Goods environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing category and shopper strategies that drive growth.
  • Strong understanding of UK retail landscape and customer engagement (Grocery, Convenience, E-Commerce).
  • Experience in trade investment management and promotional effectiveness.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills across all levels.
  • Proven experience in developing a high performing team.
  • Experience in Nutrition, Health, or Sports categories with previous experience in building trade or category functions from scratch is desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with strong knowledge of Nielsen/IRI/Kantar and retailer insight tools preferable.
