Gladiator Events exists to deliver joyful events that build lasting connections between charities and their supporters. We organise fundraising walks, long-distance treks, obstacle races and runs across the UK, and we're proud to be a Certified B Corp, operating as a Force For Good in everything we do.
We're looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our equipment, stock and storage operation β including planning and executing a storage relocation and implementing a brand-new warehouse management system from scratch. This is a rare chance to build something completely new: you'll source and set up a warehouse in a location of your choosing, and design the systems, processes and layout from the ground up. You'll combine warehouse management, stock control and IT oversight, working closely with our Event Operations and Account Management teams to make sure every piece of kit is in the right place, in the right condition, at the right time.
This is a genuinely hands-on role β expect to be getting stuck in: lifting, packing and unpacking equipment that can be heavy, drying out wet kit, maintaining and mending equipment and keeping the unit clean and tidy, alongside the more strategic systems and process work.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, including equipment preparation, returns and maintenance.
- Preparing vehicle packs and unpacks for events, often coordinating multiple vehicles to multiple locations in a single weekend.
- Identifying and implementing a new warehouse management and inventory system.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and equipment traceability across our full stock holding.
- Finding and securing a new warehouse, and overseeing the move from our current storage unit.
- Implementing structured stock-check, testing and inspection schedules for all equipment.
- Ensuring deliveries are logged and stored correctly, and packing lists are accurately followed.
- Monitoring damaged equipment, organising repairs and investigating stock discrepancies.
- Analysing equipment utilisation, revenue and ROI to support purchasing and layout decisions.
- Working alongside the Operations team on shared documentation and processes, and helping improve our internal workflows, systems and IT.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience overseeing warehouse operations, ideally within an events environment.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable taking ownership and building new systems from scratch.
- Knowledge of warehouse and rental management systems, and inventory management/stock record-keeping.
- A good understanding of testing, inspection and maintenance processes for equipment.
- Good IT knowledge, with confidence learning and implementing new software systems.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience improving systems and implementing new processes within a warehouse or operational setting.
- Experience analysing equipment utilisation, revenue and ROI to inform purchasing and stock decisions.
What We Offer
- 23 days' annual leave plus all bank holidays (pro rata for part time), with time off in lieu for weekend work.
- Flexible working with core hours of 10amβ3pm.
- £400/year personal development budget, £15/month coffee allowance and £100/year towards outdoor kit.
- Free spots at other challenge events, paid time off for community service, and regular UK travel.
- Annual company offsite, end-of-year socials, discretionary bonus scheme and pension scheme.
